Privacy Policy

This notice is given under section 11 of the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, as amended by Amendment 13. It explains what information Frankie collects, why, who it is passed to and what your rights are.

Who is responsible for the information

The database controller is Frankie, operated by Adir Sellam. For any request about your information, write to privacy@tryfrankie.co.il.

Do you have to provide information

There is no legal obligation to give us information, and providing it depends on your consent. Without your phone number and the video we have no way to cut clips and return them, so declining to provide them means we cannot provide the service.

What information we collect and why

  • Your WhatsApp phone number and display name, to identify you and return the clips in the same chat.
  • The video or link you sent, to transcribe it, choose moments and cut clips.
  • The transcript, clips, cover images and quality-control strip, to show them in the dashboard and let you make corrections.
  • A log of the requests sent to the language model, to find faults and improve how moments are chosen.
  • Your account and your billing in source minutes. Credit card numbers never pass through us and are not stored by us.
  • Your email address, if you sign in to the dashboard with email.
  • Data from social accounts you choose to connect, described in Connected platforms below.

The information is used to provide the service, for billing, support and security, and to meet legal obligations. We will not use it for any other purpose without separate consent.

Other people who appear in the video

A video may include the voice and image of other people. Whoever sends the video declares that they hold the rights and consents required from everyone who appears in it. Frankie processes the video only to cut the clips the sender asked for.

What we do not do with faces and voices

Frankie operates at the basic security level under the Israeli data security regulations. We do not create or store face prints, voice prints or any other biometric identifier. Detecting the speaker in the frame is used only to calculate the crop coordinates of the vertical frame, and only those coordinates are stored.

Who we share information with

To provide the service we use the providers below. Each of them processes information on our behalf and under our instructions, under a written agreement or standard data processing terms. The location of each provider is stated explicitly.

Beyond these providers, we disclose information only when the law requires it, for example under an order from a competent authority, or when it is needed to protect our rights.

Transfers outside Israel

Most of our providers operate in the United States and the European Union, so your information is transferred and stored outside Israel. Transfers are made under the Israeli Privacy Protection (Transfer of Data to Databases Abroad) Regulations, with providers that have committed in writing to a level of protection no lower than the one customary in Israel.

How long information is kept

  • Source videos: 30 days
  • Transcripts: 90 days
  • Clips: 180 days
  • Logs of requests to the language model: 90 days
  • Raw messages received from WhatsApp: 30 days

At the end of each period the information is deleted automatically. Invoices and source-minute balance records are kept for as long as the law requires accounting records to be kept.

Your rights

You have the right to review the information stored about you, to ask for information that is incorrect or out of date to be corrected, and to ask for it to be deleted. An account deletion request deletes the source videos, transcripts, clips, language model request logs and raw messages within 30 days. Invoices and balance records are kept as the law requires. See Data deletion instructions below.

To exercise a right, write to privacy@tryfrankie.co.il. We will answer within 30 days.

Connected platforms

Connecting a social account is optional. When you connect one, Frankie uses it only to publish clips you approved and to show you how those posts performed. The following applies to every platform below:

  • Frankie publishes only a clip you approved, at the time you chose, either in the dashboard or with a tap on a confirmation button in WhatsApp.
  • Frankie reads performance figures only for posts Frankie published, for 30 days after each one is published, and shows them on your Performance page.
  • Access tokens are encrypted with AES-GCM before they are stored. Disconnecting an account on the Connections page in Frankie (/app/connections) deletes its tokens immediately. If posts are scheduled to that account, cancel them first.
  • Frankie does not sell platform data, does not share it with anyone other than the providers listed above that run the service for you, and does not use it for advertising.

Google and YouTube

Frankie uses YouTube API Services. When you connect a YouTube channel, Frankie accesses:

  • Your channel ID, channel title and channel handle, to show which channel is connected.
  • Upload of videos you approved: Frankie uploads the clip with the title and description you wrote, to your own channel.
  • The view, like and comment counts of videos Frankie published, for your Performance page.

Permissions requested: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly

Frankie does not sell YouTube data, does not share it with third parties for their own purposes and does not use it for advertising.

Frankie's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to your use of YouTube.

To revoke Frankie's access, remove it on the Google security settings page, or press Disconnect next to YouTube on the Connections page in Frankie. To have stored data deleted, see Data deletion instructions.

TikTok

When you connect a TikTok account, Frankie accesses:

  • Your basic profile (open ID, display name and avatar), to show which account is connected.
  • Video publishing: Frankie posts a clip you approved to your account, with the caption and privacy setting you chose in the dashboard.
  • Your video list, used only to read the link and the view, like, comment and share counts of videos Frankie published.

Permissions requested: user.info.basic, video.publish, video.list

To revoke access, remove Frankie from the apps connected to your account in TikTok's settings, or press Disconnect next to TikTok on the Connections page in Frankie.

Meta: Facebook, Instagram and Threads

When you connect through Meta, Frankie accesses:

  • The list of Facebook Pages you manage, including Pages in your business portfolio, and the Instagram professional account linked to each, so you can choose which to connect. Frankie keeps only the Page and account you select: its ID, name, username and profile picture.
  • For Threads, your Threads user ID and username.
  • Publishing: Frankie publishes clips you approved as Reels or video posts to the accounts you selected.
  • Insights of posts Frankie published (such as views, reach, likes, comments, shares and saves), and, where enabled, daily account totals such as followers, reach and views, for your Performance page. Frankie never comments, likes or moderates on your behalf.

Permissions requested: pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement, pages_manage_posts, business_management, instagram_basic, instagram_content_publish, instagram_manage_insights, read_insights, pages_manage_engagement, threads_basic, threads_content_publish, threads_manage_insights

Page and account tokens are encrypted with AES-GCM and deleted when you disconnect. To revoke access, remove Frankie under Business Integrations in your Facebook settings (this covers your Pages and their linked Instagram accounts) or under Website permissions in your Threads settings, or press Disconnect on the Connections page in Frankie.

X and LinkedIn

When you connect an X account, Frankie accesses:

  • Your account ID, name and username, to show which account is connected.
  • Publishing: Frankie uploads a clip you approved and posts it with the text you wrote.
  • The public metrics of posts Frankie published (impressions, likes, replies, reposts, quotes and bookmarks).

Permissions requested: tweet.read, tweet.write, users.read, media.write, offline.access

When you connect a LinkedIn account, Frankie accesses:

  • Your member ID and name, to show which account is connected.
  • Publishing: Frankie posts a clip you approved to your profile with the text you wrote.
  • Where you grant post analytics, the impressions, reactions, comments and reshares of posts Frankie published.

Permissions requested: openid, profile, w_member_social, r_member_postAnalytics

To revoke access, remove Frankie under Connected apps in X's security settings, or under Permitted services in LinkedIn's data privacy settings, or press Disconnect on the Connections page in Frankie.

Data deletion instructions

You can delete your account and its data in either of two ways:

  • In the dashboard, go to Settings, then Delete account (/app/settings/delete), type the confirmation word and confirm. Only the owner of a workspace can request its deletion.
  • Email privacy@tryfrankie.co.il with the phone number or email address linked to your account and ask for deletion. We answer within 30 days.

Deletion starts immediately and completes within 30 days. Jobs that are still running are canceled, any minutes held for them are released, and scheduled posts are canceled. The following is deleted permanently:

  • Source videos, transcripts, clips and cover images, and every stored file of the workspace.
  • Language model request logs, raw WhatsApp messages and the WhatsApp conversation history.
  • Connected social accounts with their encrypted tokens, unpublished posts and the performance figures Frankie collected.
  • The phone number, name and email address stored on your user.

Invoices, source-minute balance records and the record of posts that were already published are kept, as the law requires and as a record of what went out. To stop a deleted account from claiming the free trial again, Frankie keeps the deletion date and a one-way hash of the phone number, which cannot be turned back into the number. Posts already published to your social accounts stay on those platforms; delete them there if you want them removed.

To remove a single platform without deleting your account, press Disconnect on the Connections page. Its tokens are deleted immediately.

Messages we send

Every message Frankie initiates on WhatsApp is a service message about your work: a confirmation, progress, delivery, balance or sign-in. Marketing messages are sent only to a separate list you explicitly joined, and every such message includes a way to unsubscribe.

Information security

Every file is stored in a private bucket. Every link we hand out is signed and valid for one hour. Access to information is limited to the people who need it to provide the service.

Changes to this notice

When we update this notice we will change the version date at the top of the page. A material change will also be sent as a service message.
